myspace

yeah, i have a myspace page. i wanted a place for my friends to hear my music and to possibly get a few gigs here & there. i check my comments once in a while, i like to think i'm not one of those guys who need myspace.

people want to be known. they want to be lived with, bought drinks for and played on community softball teams with, but that's all too superficial for satisfaction of the human heart. we don't need more relationships, we need deeper ones. and the great thing about myspace is that it enables us to create alternate realities apart from the one we physically know. we can spew the details, pretty and ugly, of our lives onto our top 8 without having to actually deal with those people ever again if we don't want to. we don't feel the real consequences of real relationships.

these are disposable friends.
